A full weekend of shooting at the Hampshire County Championships and Graeme Higgs cam away with a third place amoung the visitors.
The HAA shoot was a bit new for me but a weekend away in the new forest seemed like a good idea. The shoot is right opposite Exbury Gardens and is a bit renown for being windy, perhaps because you're not too far from the coast but also because the field is quite open too. Early starts each day for an 8:45 practice. Saturday was a WA720 followed by a head to head, the day was a little cloudy and it tried to rain once but it stayed dry and there wasn't much wind. I was 21st overall and out at the 1/16 but Graeme was 16th and made it through to the 1/8 round and very nearly beat Sonny Emeny (4-6), which would have made his day.
Sunday was pretty hot all day considering we're now way into September and again no wind. Good shooting and today Graeme did beat Sonny, so apart from the medal he was well chuffed.
